Lucknow: Nawabon Ka Shahar




Lucknow is well known as City of Nawabs is my home town. It is the city where I am grown up. I wanna show you my LuckNow.

Lucknow is capital of Uttar Pradesh, spread evenly on both sides of river Gomti. Lucknow is well known for rich culture. Almost people from all religion live here. All the festivals are celebrated here with great sprit.

Lucknow has a warm humid subtropical climate with cool, dry winters from December to February and dry, hot summers from April to June. The rainy season is from mid-June to mid-September. Average temperature of summers is 40 C and of winters is 25 C. Best season to visit Lucknow is winter seasion between October to Feburary.

Lucknow has its great political importance because it is capital of Uttar Pradesh. State Assembly House is here. The official residence of chief minister of UP is also in Lucknow at Kalidas Marg. Head Office of all the national parties are here.

Lucknow has good medical facilities. Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University, SGPGI, Lohiya Hospital, Era’s Medical Collage and many more good private hospitals are situated here.

Lucknow is also growing as education hub as many Engineering & Management collages are here. Many coaching institute for the prepration of IIT/PMT, Civil Services are also here. Here there are numerous of reputed school and collages. Lucknow has its own university which is about 80 years old which offers number of courses.
There are many places to visit in Lucknow such as Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara,  Residency, Rumi Darwaza Sikandar Bagh, Clock Tower, Chattar manzil, State Museum, Zoo, Lohiya Park, Ambedkar Park, Anandi Water Park, Kala Gawn etc.

Lucknow is good place for shopping. Many markets as well as malls are here. Hazaratganj, Aminabad,Chowk, Bhootnath Market, Alambagh etc are main markets of Lucknow. Lucknow is famous for its Chicken work. So don’t forget to buy chicken cloths from Lucknow.

Lucknow is also famous for its Mugali Cusines. So if you are non-vegetarian don’t forget to taste it. You can taste every type of food here because people here are food loving. You can see many small food points to big AC restaurants. Royal Café, Aryans, Ritz are some famous restaurants of Lucknow.
